Graphics to Explain Hip Hop

Thank goodness, because I, well, just don't get it.

Anyway, the Village Voice has an article online that's subtitled "A graphical dissertation on the number one song in America." Apparently, a guy named Mims has a song called "This Is Why I'm Hot," and now the Voice has explained - in nice diagrams and charts - how to tell if you are, too.

I, alas, am not.

This website was very enlightening on "hotness". I thought it brought up some interesting points such as Mims reinventing "hotness" from years of abuse. I didn't understand a lot of the slang though and that is probablly why I don't like the song very much. I also like how the website uses diagrams to interpret the lyrics. What is funny, is that when I first heard this song, I asked myself how a song could be so popular for just saying three words over and over. I will give the song credit for being an easy song to sing and that is why it has sold millions.
