I thought he brought up a lot of interesting points about infographics. I agree that infographics should not be "too detailed" as to disrupt clarity and mislead the reader. However, I like using 3-D infographics because it draws the reader in. I don't think it matters that this tactic was used a lot in the 80's. If this tactic worked by drawing the reader in and conveyed info. correctly, then I don't think we need to change it for "boring charts." But I also agree that we should not create infographics just to add color to the page. I guess we need to approach infographics with a happy medium.
