What Goes Online, What Doesn't

Mindy McAdams, the Flash Goddess, posted a list of things to think about when deciding what to turn into a multimedia piece. Worth taking a look at as we'll be discussing this next week in class.

* Stops time (viewer can study it)
* Saleable (profits)
* Fast to be absorbed
* Sense of truth-telling
* Can be complementary or stand-alone
* Language-free (needs no translation)
* Less expensive than other media (except text)

Maybe it's just my defense mechanism kicking in, but that last bullet point is somewhat questionable. Less expensive to whom? Last time I checked, it was much more expensive to purchase a professional grade SLR versus a pad of paper and a pencil....
